helped write the computer code for the command and lunar modules used on the
Apollo missions to the Moon.
joined MIT's Lincoln Laboratory and was involved in the Semi-Automatic Ground
Environment project, the first U.S. air defense system.
accepted a job at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she programmed
software to predict the weather and did postgraduate work in meteorology.
Saved the 1969 mission of the Eagle by making a software that managed to make
for a serious hardware error

Hamilton earned Bachelor of the Arts in mathematics with a minor in philosophy at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where in 2009, she received the Outstanding Alumni Award by Earlham College

Academic Events:

Grace Hopper graduated from Vassar College with degrees in math and physics. Then she earned a masters degree in 1930 and her Ph.D. in math from Yale University in 1934. In 1941, Hopper studied under mathematician Richard Courant (APS 1953) at his Institute for Mathematics and Mechanics at New York University.

Contributions:

in 1952 Ms. Hopper pioneered the idea of automatic programming and explored new ways to use the computer to code by developing the first compiler called A-0, which translated mathematical code into machine-readable code.
Hopper was involved in the creation of UNIVAC, the first all-electronic digital computer.
She also calculated rocket trajectories,calibrated minesweepers, and helped with the calculations for the Nagasaki bomb.
In the 1970s, she standardized the Navy's computer languages.

Contributions:

Timothy Berners-Lee is known for being the "father of hte world wide web." He created enquire, which ended up being the conceptual ground work for the web. In addition, Berners is also the co-founder of Intrupt.com and co-founder and president of the Open Data Institure in London.

Tim Burners-Lee Majored in physics at Queen's College at Oxford University and became a software sonsultant. He also spent time at CERN. He then returned 40 years later to become a member of the Department of Computer Science.
